On Mission Statements.

Life has for each a mission,
Fine-tailored to the man:
Someone to be, some deed to do,
One's part within the Plan.

But, to find that part aright,
To sing one's proper tune,
A man need lay aside all else
And seek but to assume

The humble stance of readied sail,
Awaiting wind's next breeze:
His will well-set, his eye aware--
His Maker set to please.

For, roles are only known, in fine,
And steps made well apace,
When the soul is open whole
To moment's proper grace.

Wonderful!

"The humble stance of readied sail,
awaiting Wind's next breeze..."

This is excelent. How limited our view of our part within the "Plan."

But to "lay aside all else And seek but to assume" is to trust in God because he has the big picture...As you say in your poem, "roles are only known, in fine" (Small) and steps made well in pace (when the soul is open whole to moments proper grace"---This last stanza, as i read it, is also about accepting the fact that we "know, in fine," and to be open to grace...this makes me feel like a blind man, who can't depend on his eyes, and so is dependant on what he hears from his GUIDE.--
"The Soul is open whole To moment's proper grace."
